Drumbeat UK Autumn 15 - page 12-13

Aardvark favourite and multi-award winning
Great Plains Conservation has just launched
a fabulous 13 day luxury flying safari that
combines the most exclusive wilderness
areas of Botswana and Kenya. This private
safari, which has you zooming from one
swanky safari camp to the next aboard a
luxury plane will take you, your professional
guide and up to five friends to these two
premier wildlife locations.
You’ll stay in three glorious Relais & Chateaux
properties: Zarafa Camp oozes luxury with its stunning
tented villas and sweeping views across the game-rich
Zibadianja Lagoon; Ol Donyo Lodge with its backdrop of
Mt. Kilimanjaro and concentration of some of Africa’s
largest tuskers, and Mara Plains, home to the
largest lion and leopard population in the
Masai Mara, plus the stunning
Duba Plains in Botswana’s
Okavango Delta, where the
age old battle between lions
and buffalo plays out.

After some years in the travel wilderness Zimbabwe is very much back as one of
Africa’s prime safari destinations. Always highly regarded for wonderful wildlife,
stunning national parks, varied safari activities and high quality guiding, there’s
an ever increasing choice of places to stay and enjoy all on offer here.
Stand out memories of my recent trip include rhino tracking on foot in Malilangwe, a walking safari in
Mana Pools, boating on Lake Kariba and, at Somalisa Camp, watching elephants drink from a plunge
pool while I was sitting on the other side!

Something Special
:
Malilangwe – 100,000 acres of privately-
owned land in the south east, Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve is one of
the continent’s leading conservation areas. As well as the Big 5, some
of Africa’s rarest animals roam the savannah here. There’s ancient
rock art too, with more than 100 sites dating back at least 2,000 years.
Have a look at Singita Pamushana on our website which ticks all the
boxes as a perfect place from which to explore this unique wilderness.
